Graduate Business School Rankings

Like virtually any other type of undergraduate or graduate school, graduate business schools receive rankings from a number of sources. What does this mean for you, if you’ve chosen to pursue your business degree at the graduate level?

Graduate level business programs are ranked by such evaluators as college review committees and professional news outlets. The criteria on which rankings are based varies from source to source, and many times schools may be ranked in different positions or excluded from certain lists when they are included in others. For you, the potential MBA student, this means you need to be careful when selecting your school if rankings are part of your consideration. You should understand why a school earns a ranking from one source that may differ from another source’s ranking: what does each source evaluate schools on? Do those criteria matter to you, or should you make a more independent decision based on personal wants and needs?
