What Not to Do When Attending Online College – A Brief Summary

In any college, and an online college especially, students may be tempted to take shortcuts to get to the finish line a little faster and with a little less effort. Often times, students place more value on the final grade or the certificate or degree received at the end of the road. However, the old expression “it’s not the destination, but the journey, that matters” holds true when discussing any educational program. To have a strong final grade at the end means little without solid effort put into earning that grade.

The goal of attending college is to expand skill sets and learn valuable new information, methods, and tools. When students take shortcuts, they only do themselves a disservice because the information picked up along the way is the goal of any online college program. Shortcuts and tricks may seem appealing, especially with the unique structure of online colleges, but giving 100% to your studies is the only way to maximize your time and money spent on college.
